a701fd77 24PuTTY is a free (MIT-licensed) Win32 Telnet and SSH client. This
25manual documents PuTTY, and its companion utilities PSCP, PSFTP,
26Plink, Pageant and PuTTYgen.
27
28\e{Note to Unix users:} this manual currently primarily documents the
29Windows versions of the PuTTY utilities. Some options are therefore
421406a4 30mentioned that are absent from the \i{Unix version}; the Unix version has
31features not described here; and the \i\cw{pterm} and command-line
a701fd77 32\cw{puttygen} utilities are not described at all. The only
421406a4 33Unix-specific documentation that currently exists is the
34\I{man pages for PuTTY tools}man pages.
